Soul Clap is back in April with the highly buzzed about psuedo cover band Telephoned!

Telephoned was born one night in Brooklyn when DJ/producer Sammy Bananas (Fool’s Gold) and singer/party starter Maggie Horn (Good Peoples) decided to record their own version of T-Pain’s “Can’t Believe It.” Their track was neither remix nor cover – instead, the duo fashioned a postmodern take on both, warping the original beat into a hypnotic club track and bringing out the dreamy qualities only hinted at in Pain’s auto-tuned melodies. Sammy and Maggie’s fresh “Can’t Believe It” quickly became a DJ favorite – even making it into mix rotation on LA hip-hop station Power 106! – so they decided to keep recording as a team, cleverly named after the kids game of Telephone: no faithful copies, just a party line of unexpected twists. “Pop Champagne” is their latest concoction, turning Ron Browz’ rap hit into a spacey dance floor gem (“Bottle service electro meets Triplets Of Belleville!” says Ms Horn) that’s instantly addictive and massively charming. More reworks are on their way, turning pop into new-school standards and continuing to put a fresh spin on party music. Telephoned are off the hook! Visit Mean Red for more info on Telephoned and their new mixtape Off The Hook.

Telephoned will be performing live at Thirty Nine Hotel on Friday April 30. Also performing will be Soul Clap resident DJ’s SSSOLUTION, and Compose of Nocturnal Sound Krew. Attendees that RSVP before the event, will receive a discounted cover charge as well as a digital download of Telephoned’s mixtape Off The Hook. The RSVP address is tinyurl.com/soulclap-rsvp . ($7 with RSVP, $15 without- 21 and over)

Christopher Drummond Predicts Spring/Summer Makeup Trends and Incorporates them Into His Line -

While Fashion Week is typically viewed as a time for fashion industry aficionados to predict what will be “in” next season, the same is true for beauty mavens in-the-know. Professional makeup artist Christopher Drummond scoured the runways during Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week this past September to come up with makeup trends that would complement the collections. He then took those trends and incorporated them into his line in a realistic, workable way so the everyday woman could look fashion forward, but not over-the-top.

The top trends that Christopher predicated for this season were pastels, corals and a focus on the eyes. “Spring is a time when women are looking to break out of the dreary colors they have been
wearing all winter,” said creator Christopher Drummond. “I figured that this spring, women would want a fresh change, but they would also want to incorporate a little bit of fun into their beauty routines, regardless of their age.

This led to the creation and addition of three new products to the Christopher Drummond line: Petal (a soft, shimmery baby pink eye shadow), Sky (a pastel blue), Coral Reef Lip Stain and Navy eye liner.

Just like the other products in the Christopher Drummond Beauty line, the new products are all-natural, vegan and organic based. The Petal and Sky Eye Shadows enhance the look of every complexion,
regardless of the person’s skin tone, color or age. The colors brighten the eyes without having them appear heavily “made up.” The colors are perfect for everyday use, and can be “glammed up” for an
evening look.

The Coral Reef Lip Stain, unlike traditional lipsticks and glosses, is an all-natural, hydrating, long-lasting color. Free of preservatives and artificial colors, the lip stain conditions lips naturally while adding subtle shine and color.

The Navy Eyeliner is a cream to powder liner with long staying power, which offers a fresh change for spring from traditional black. Christopher’s tip: adding a light amount of colored liner on
the bottom lid looks fresh and modern and is a way to add color to the eyes without going overboard. Or, another eye trend is no makeup at all on the bottom: a nice thick liner with rich mascara
and a colored shadow on tip, paired with a bare bottom lash line, opens up the eyes and looks youthful and fresh.

Christopher Drummond Beauty Products are made exclusively from healthy ingredients and contain natural antioxidants, such as Açai green tea, calming botanicals, balancing essential oils, and anti-
inflammatory soy isoflavones. The line does not contain titanium dioxide or bismuth oxycloride, two known skin irritants found in traditional makeup.

After years of research and industry experience, working with some of the biggest names in beauty, Christopher Drummond set out to fill a hole in the makeup category by creating Christopher Drummond Beauty, a line that is hypoallergenic and matches all skin tones. He created a brand that doesn’t fit in a category: beyond mineral makeup, Christopher Drummond Beauty products are a healthy alternative to mineral makeup and traditional makeup.

Maui jewelry designer, Noryne Taylor started Decorous Studio in 2004. A jewelry designer with attitude! Noryne loves working with the precious metals and gemstones that our planet provides. As she casts, forms and polishes metal, she feels that she is taking part in a larger creative process that began with the earth itself. Jewelry making allows her to explore ideas of beauty and the relationships that we have between concepts of who we are and the outward expressions that we choose.

At Decorous, each piece of jewelry begins life as a personal project, something created out of a sense of curiosity and fun. Inspiration. Expansion. An exploration of a theme, either consciously or unconsciously it grows out of a thematic seed and is underlined with the fundamental quest to understand one’s experiences. She hopes to communicate something of herself with each client through her jewelry. Understand the designs as you will. They will speak to you if they are meant to. Let them say what they want. Jewelry is fun. Life is fun, all she wants to do is have fun. Feel free and turn up the music real loud.

For the first time ever, Noryne Taylor’s pieces will be on display on Oahu. To experience the creativity, her line will be at Therapy Boutique In Kahala Mall on Sunday, April 18th from 10:30 to 1:00. Enjoy complementary samplings from Sunshine Cake Creations.

Fill your cup this swimsuit season with Voda Swim’s Envy Push Up bikini. Designer and international print model, Yulia Drummond is giving small-busted women a reason to look forward to the summer. Inspired by her own struggle with a smaller-bust, Yulia and her husband Dustin designed the Envy Push Up bikini to help women feel sexy on the beach.

In search of a bikini top that provided support and shape, Yulia created the ultimate bikini for active beachgoers and sunbathers. This ideal piece for the summer not only visually increases bust size by up to two cup sizes, but its unique material absorbs less than a tablespoon of water. This helps Envy Push Up bikini tops to retain their extraordinary fit even when wet.

Celebrities like Angelina Jolie enjoy Voda Swim suits not only for their comfort but for their design. The bikini comes in six unique styles and many vivacious colors, all designed to reveal curves in all the right places.
Whether you’re in the water or out, active or playful, Voda Swim bikini’s are just the piece of the puzzle missing from the perfect summer experience.

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa celebrates its 30th anniversary this April with a series of festive special events, parties, retro menu offerings, and contests. Built in 1980 for $80 million, Hyatt Regency Maui was the first destination resort in the world, and its groundbreaking resort-as-destination concept incorporating extensive gardens, water playgrounds and rockscapes, wildlife and notable art collection forever changed the landscape of resorts around the globe. Hyatt Regency Maui dedicates the month of April to a playful look back at its history as well as its future, culminating in a spectacular Eighties-themed disco party.

30th Anniversary Black & White Disco Pool Party, April 17, 2010 The highlight of the months festivities, Hyatt Regency Mauis 30th Anniversary Black & White Disco Pool Party takes a look back at where it all started. The Eighties-themed party begins around the resorts Lahaina Pool and continues late-night, as Spats, Hyatts infamous nightclub, reopens for an unforgettable one-night-only experience. Transformed into a disco, the party will include entertainment from Spats dancers, Malibu models, and Cirque Polynesia performers, as well as refreshments, and the signature spinning of DJ Blast, Mauis most popular DJ and Hyatts former featured entertainer back in the day. Black and white and disco attire is strongly encouraged. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Visitor Industry Charity Walk. The VIP reception from 8:00 10:00pm includes guaranteed table, champagne, drink tickets, and passed appetizers at Spats. Price per person for the VIP reception is $50 (VIP tickets only available via pre-sale through Expedia). General admission to Spats, from 10:00pm 3:00am, is $20/person via pre-sale ($25 at door). For tickets, contact Expedia at (808) 667-4420.

Retro Menus & Music Hyatt Regency Maui takes a trip back to The Eighties with retro menu specials at Umalu in April. >From April 18 27, guests can relive Tom Cruises movie Cocktail with the Electric Slide, a frozen neon blue island margarita with Sauza Tequila, Blue Curaao and Maui Gold Pineapple ($8). Providing musical backdrop, the Citrus College band will perform frequently throughout the resort from June 30 through July 18.

On Monday, April 19, General Manager Michael Jokovich will give tribute to all staff with a birthday-themed celebration and presentation of a huge birthday cake in the resort atrium lobby.

Saying Aloha to Social Media In addition to the launch of Facebook & Twitter campaign,30 Things You Didnt Know, which highlights little-known facts about the resort, Hyatt Regency Maui has also launched a compelling Facebook contest inviting fans to post a favorite Maui memory with photo for a chance to win a luxurious six-night Ultimate 30th Anniversary Experience package.
